Who Is Encore Dance Ministries?
Encore Dance Ministries is a Christian dance studio that was established in 2009 by Maria Murphy Lyons of Western North Carolina. Maria has a passion for dance and theater. She wanted to give back to her community by opening a performance arts ministry that would be a light to her community as well as to the world. Since then Maria has moved on into broadcasting and has sold the studio to Holly Boynton Guyer who has been an huge inspiration to Encore Ministries, Inc since it opening.
Encore Dance Ministries has already toured Costa Rica with a show where they performed and ministered to over 1000 children and families in the Arenal and La Fortuna area. Encore Dance Ministries is partners with led2serve, an organization that brings mission teams into different areas to help bring people closer to Christ.
Encore isn't just a dance and theater studio, we are passionate about our love for Christ and dance. We glorify God in all that we do. Each week we study a devotional with the students as well as keep a prayer journal. We also end each class with a prayer. Our main mission is to create a performance arts ministry that tours the world doing shows to spark a fire for the love of Christ.
We are a ministry first and a dance studio second, we are always willing to help our dance families whenever possible. Most people have described us as a family. They say we aren't just a studio we are a dance family that cares for one another.
We believe that each student is created unique and that uniqueness is showcased in all that we do. We do not play favorites in our classes, but believe that each student deserves to grow and be showcased for their individual accomplishments no matter how big or how small.
We create a positive atmosphere for students to grow and develop their dance and theater techniques. We make sure to add a fun, fast paced, up-to-date choreography, and age appropriate material to each and every class. Our students, at Encore, are well trained in technique and we take great pride and making sure our students understand solid technique. We progress our students from beginner basics through intermediate and on into advance dance technique.
We strive only for EXCELLENCE in all that we do and we require our students to strive to be their BEST and then some. We, as a studio, thrive to be more than your average run of the mill dance studio. We are different and pride ourselves on our individuality. Our students get a solid dance education in a Christ center environment. Our standard is based off the leadership and development of biblical principle found throughout the bible. We love everyone and encourage everyone at their own level of ability in dance.
It's no wonder we were VOTED BEST Preschool dance program of the year. We have an exceptional preschool program that is jammed packed with fun activities and dance basics to keep your little ones excited and coming back for more. It's amazing to hear your little one speaking French at such an early age. Our studio has been a successful preschool dance program for many years.
We also have a thriving competition dance program that is amazing. These kids have won many 1st place trophies, and special Judges pick awards. They have even won many 1st place over-all’s as well. Our competition
